Atiya, Thanks for the great question- you know disputes over money are the leading cause of divorce.  Getting help to deal with money issues is a smart move. There are two ways you can go.<br />
The first may surprise you.  Many of us have emotional baggage that helps to form our money attitudes. Often if someone is very rigid in their money views- they have a strong emotional reason for it.<br />
If this sounds like your situation- couples therapy might be a good option. Get to the heart of why you feel the way you do about money and why you make certain money decisions&#8211; and get to the bottom of why <em>your partner</em> feels the way they do.<br />
From there you can form a mutual respect for each other&#8217;s limits- and hopefully make better decisions as a couple.<br />
If your issues are more nuts and bolts about financial education, there are wonderful community resources to help families with financial education. Almost every county in the country has something.<br />
